You Be the Judge
The Canada Goose, Ruddy Duck, Brant, Northern Shoveler, and Greater White-Fronted Goose are all beautiful birds. In a few short weeks gorgeous examples of artwork from 236 wildlife artists featuring these species will be on display in Berkeley, CA to be viewed by the public. More importantly on October 15-16, they will be scrutinized and judged by a panel of five individuals with expertise in wildlife art and other related fields. Over the course of these two days the judges will narrow the field down to the top five scoring entries and eventually the winner. The design they choose will grace the face of the 2011 federal duck stamp! Now the National Duck Stamp Collectors Society is offering its members an opportunity to be a duck stamp art judge! See how your opinion stacks up against the judges in the actual contest. It’s so easy. Just go to the Sam Houston Duck Co. website to view the duck stamp art images. Pick your top three in order and e-mail your picks to the NDSCS at Dave@NDSCS.org. One entry per member, please. The deadline for submitting your choices is midnight on Thursday, October 14. At that time, we will score and tabulate all your entries and determine an overall winner. In the interest of fairness the NDSCS will not reveal the results of the membership vote until sometime after the conclusion of the actual contest. We will be awarding small prizes to those entrants who pick the actual winner as chosen by the judges in the real contest. Good Luck and Happy Voting! Dave Goyer
